Belmont Abbey's Whitham Named Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College goalie Harley Whitham has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 20-26, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Elk Grove, Calif., Whitham was outstanding between the pipes, as the Crusaders knocked off No. 11 Lake Erie, 15-4, last week. In the win, Whitham faced 21 shots and made 17 stops for an 81% save percentage.

Whitham has made 37 saves for a 66.1 save percentage on the season and only allowed 19 goals. His save percentage, goals against and goals-against average (6.57) ranks first in Conference Carolinas, while ranking second in saves.

Also nominated for Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week: Kyle Barna (Pfeiffer), Brett Kingston (Mount Olive), Austin Dixon (North Greenville) & Tyler Gaulton (Limestone)
