Barton's Kelly and Hearp Named Conference Carolinas Softball Players of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Megan Kelly was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, while teammate Sierra Hearp was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played Jan. 30 - Feb. 5, the Conference announced today.

Kelly, a senior from Plymouth, N.C., put together a four-hit week with three extra-base hits (1 2B, 1 3B and 1 HR) and three RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 opening week. Her best performance was a 3-for-3 outing with a triple and homer and three RBI.

A freshman from Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Hearp was lights out for the Bulldogs in their 8-0 win over St. Augustine's. She would toss a no-hitter with six strikeouts in her collegiate debut, which also included going 2-for-3 from the plate with a double, homer and two RBI.
