Mount Olive's Craig and King's Okot Named Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive's Adam Craig and King University's Vincent Okot have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Jan. 30 - Feb. 5, the conference announced today.

Craig, a junior from Lauder, United Kingdom, turned in a great performance for the Trojans at the JDL Fast Track Camel City Invitational. He would post an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:18.51. Craig's time was four seconds off the UMO record and good enough for a second-place finish.

A senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., Okot posted a top-three finish in the triple jump, while finishing top-20 in the long jump at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University. He tallied a second-place finish and managed an NCAA Provisional mark in the triple jump with a jump of 15.22 meters, which was only .25 meters from an automatic qualifying mark. Okot closed out the day with a long jump of 6.34 meters, earning a 19th-place finish in the event.
