Limestone's Aikens Named USILA/BSN Division II National Defensive Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College goalie Cole Aikens has been named the Named USILA/BSN National Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 6-12, the association announced recently.
A junior from Novato, Calif., Aikens made his first career start in between the pipes and gave one of the most impressive performances in team history to earn a road decision against No. 12 Lynn University this past Saturday. He registered 16 saves while surrendering just four goals in a 13-4 win over the Fighting Knights.
He posted a save percentage of 80% while facing 44 shots from Lynn's offensive attack, and his 16-save performance ranks 10th all-time in program history for most stops in a game. He added four ground balls to pick up his first career victory.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
