North Greenville's Sherman and Barton's Russell Jr. Named Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – North Greenville's JJ Sherman and Barton College's Larry Russell Jr. have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Mar. 13-19, the Conference announced today.
A sophomore from Pawleys Island, S.C., Sherman notched a runner-up finish with a time of 10.51 seconds in the 100 meter dash at the 49er Classic hosted by University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Russell Jr., a sophomore from Sicklerville, N.J., posted a pair of top-five finishes at the 49er Classic hosted by University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He would break his own school record in the long jump, registering a jump of 7.35 meters, which placed him second in the event. He would tie for fourth-place in the high jump with a jump of 2 meters, which is .01 off his own school record.
