Mount Olive's Hanle and Pfeiffer's Webb Named Conference Carolinas Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive's Leah Hanle and Pfeiffer University's Alison Webb have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Mar. 20-26, the Conference announced today.

A freshman from Lichtenstein, Germany, Hanle managed a top-ten finish for the Trojans at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University. She would finish in ninth-place among numerous Division I runners in the 5000 meter with a time of 16:24.45, which was a UMO school record for the event. Hanle's time was also an NCAA Automatic qualifier, which booked her a trip to the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 5000 meter.

Webb, a junior from Concord, N.C., narrowly missed a top-five finish for the Falcons at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational hosted by Winthrop University. She would place sixth in the javelin throw with a score of 38.11 meters, breaking her own school record set last week.
