Belmont Abbey's Wiedemann Named USILA/BSN Division II National Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College attack Adam Wiedemann has been named the Named USILA/BSN National Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 27 - Mar. 5, the association announced recently.

Wiedemann, a junior from Caledon East, Ontario, collected 11 points (7g, 4 a) for the Crusaders last week and led them to a 2-0 record.

In a 14-6 win over then-No. 19 Queens, Wiedemann notched six points on three goals and three assists to go with three ground balls. As an encore, he would score four goals and hand out one helper to lead Belmont Abbey to an 18-8 conference win over Pfeiffer.

Wiedemann has 22 points (14g, 8a) on the season for Belmont Abbey. He ranks second in Conference Carolinas in points, while ranking fourth in assists and fifth in goals.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
