Barton's Morris and Poole Named Conference Carolinas Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Jamina Morris and Kelsey Poole have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Apr. 3-9, the Conference announced today.
A freshman from Edison, N.J., Morris posted a pair of NCAA Division II Provisional marks over the weekend for the Bulldogs at the Johnson C. Smith University Invitational hosted by Johnson C. Smith University. She would win the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.42, while notching seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.25.
Poole, a freshman from Oakboro, N.C., notched two top-15 finishes for Barton at the Johnson C. Smith University Invitational hosted by Johnson C. Smith University. In the discus throw, she would place seventh with a distance of 34.94 meters. Poole would break the outdoor school record with a distance of 11.38 meters in the shot put, which earned her 12th in the event.
