Mount Olive's Mozingo and King's Mirabal Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Zach Mozingo was named the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while King University's Octavio Mirabal earned the Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Apr. 10-16, the Conference announced today.
Mozingo, a senior from Goldsboro, N.C., led No. 1 Mount Olive to a 4-0 week, which included a sweep of Erskine to clinch the Conference Carolinas regular season title. He batted .286 with three homers and seven RBI while also earning a save on the week. Mozingo's best outing came in a 7-4 game one win over Erskine, as he went 2-for-4 with two homer runs, three RBI and a save.
A junior from Miami, Fla., Mirabal picked up a complete game win over Limestone last week. He would give up two earned runs off of six hits, but would strikeout nine batters in nine innings of work.
