2017 Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis All-Conference and Major Awards Announced

HIGH POINT, N.C.Limestone College's Federico Garnier swept the 2017 Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis major awards after being named both Player and Freshamn of the Year. In addition, Kevin Coghill of University of Mount Olive was tabbed the Coach of the Year, the Conference announced today.

Garnier, a freshman from Cordoba, Argentina, made an immediate impact for the Limestone program at the No. 1 singles spot. He posted a singles record of 13-2 and 12-5 in doubles. In Conference Carolinas play, he recorded a perfect 10-0 record to go along with a 9-1 mark in doubles.

After leading Mount Olive its fifth regular season Conference Carolinas title, Kevin Coghill has been named the 2017 Coach of the Year. In seven years at UMO, Coghill has guided the Trojans to a 95-36 overall record and a 58-8 mark in league action. During that time, Mount Olive has captured four regular season titles, four conference tournament titles and four NCAA Men's Tennis Championship appearances.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athleticconference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount OliveNorth Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA DII membership process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
