2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis All-Conference and Major Awards Announced
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University's Olivia Nelms was crowned the 2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Player of the Year, while Limestone College's Camille Haus earned Freshman of the Year honors. In addition, Limestone point man Alan Ferguson picked up Coach of the Year accolades, the Conference announced today.
Nelms, a senior from Chesterfield, England, captured Player of the Year after posting a 10-1 record in singles action while playing exclusively at No. 1 singles, with all 10 wins coming in straight sets. Nelms, who was the 2014 Player of the Year as a freshman, ends her Pfeiffer career with a remarkable 39-2 overall singles record in Conference Carolinas action.
Haus, a freshman from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has posted an overall singles record of 13-4 and 10-7 in doubles. She went undefeated in conference play at the No. 4 singles slot and 9-2 in doubles action.
In his fourth season at the helm of the Limestone College women’s tennis program, Alan Ferguson has compiled an overall record of 48-31. He led the Saints to a Conference Carolinas regular season title this year after posting a 10-1 record.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA DII membership process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
