Mount Olive's Dahlke and Belmont Abbey's Smallwood Named Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.University of Mount Olive's Jonathan Dahlke and Belmont Abbey College's Julian Smallwood have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Apr. 17-23, the Conference announced today.

Dahlke, a junior from Cologne, Germany, had an impressive showing for the Trojans at the Duke Invite hosted by Duke University over the weekend. He set an NCAA Division II Provisional qualifying time in the 5000 meter, with his time of 14:01.10 being good enough for second-place. In the heavy Division I field, Dahlke finished as the top NCAA runner, with the winner running unattached.

A freshman from Buffalo, N.Y., posted a runner-up finish for the Crusaders at the USC Open hosted by the University of South Carolina. He would finish second in the event with a shot put of 16.24 meters.
