Limestone Captures 2017 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship; Limestone's Woodard Wins Medalist Honors

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Limestone College took home the 2017 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday (Apr. 25) afternoon. Limestone's Will Woodward garnered the 2017 Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Medalist with a score of -4 for 36 holes. The 2017 championship was hosted by Barton College at Cutter Creek in Snow Hill, N.C.

The Saints ran away with their third consecutive team title as they shot -4 over the two rounds, finishing 15 strokes ahead of second-place Barton.

Limestone's Woodward entered the final round of play sitting in first place by one stroke. He finished the second round -3, after resuming play Tuesday morning.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
