Limestone's Reisman Named Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Limestone College's men's lacrosse player Kevin Reisman has been named the Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year for 2016-17, the Conference announced today. The Saints have won three straight and five out of the last six male athlete of the year awards.
Reisman, a faceoff specialist from West Babylon, N.Y., ended his stellar collegiate career with his second Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year award in three years and a plethora of individual awards.
A four-time All-America and a two-time Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award winner as the Most Outstanding Player, Reisman guided the Saints to their third NCAA Division II National Championship in four years after leading the nation in faceoff winning percentage (.744) and groundballs per game (11.2). It marked the third straight year that he was named the NCAA statistical champion in both of those categories.
Reisman’s performance at the center 'X' during the 2017 campaign was so dominant, he was named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year simply for keeping the opposing team’s offensive unit off the field for long stretches. He went 17-of-24 in the faceoff circle in the national championship game, including a perfect 7-for-7 during a decisive third quarter, and collected 14 groundballs to be named the championship game’s Most Outstanding Player.
