King's Mead Named Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Nicola Mead has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Oct. 1-7, the Conference announced today.
A junior from Brisbane, Australia, Mead posted three first-place finishes and helped the Tornado move to 2-0 by defeating Milligan and Lees-McRae in dual meet action. In the 100 butterfly, Mead would take first with a time of 1:00.93. In the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays, Mead and company would place first with times of 4:18.20 and 4:06.83, respectively.
Also nominated for Women's Swimmer of the Week:
Juana Mafla (Emmanuel) - Two first-place finishes and one second-place finish in three races.
