Barton's Macdonald Named Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Nicola Macdonald has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Oct. 22-28, the Conference announced today. This marks Macdonald's first POTW award this season and the second for Barton.
Macdonald, a sophomore from Durban, South Africa, collected four first-place victories and helped the Bulldogs to a pair of victories in a tri-meet with William Peace and King University.
In the tri-meet, Macdonald would win three individual events in the 100-yard freestyle (55.63), 200-yard freestyle (2:04.21) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:37.55). She would then pace the Bulldogs to a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:47.58).
Also nominated for Women's Swimmer of the Week:
Karolina Ostojska (Emmanuel) - Four first-place finishes, one second-place finish and two third-place finishes in seven races.
