King's Vik Named Conference Carolinas Men's Swimmer of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University's Simen Vik has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets swam during the week of Oct. 29 - Nov. 4, the Conference announced today.
A freshman from Sandnes, Norway, Vik notched four top-three finishes and broke one school record as King went 1-1 in its tri-meet with Mars Hill and Warren Wilson.
Vik won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.89, which was .20 off the King record. Vik finished second in the 500-yard freestyle, but set a school record in the event with a time of 4:56.56. Vik would also finish second in the 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relay with times of 1:46.33 and 3:38.81, respectively.
Also nominated for Men's Swimmer of the Week:
Ander Arruabarrena (Emmanuel) - Three second-place finishes in three races.
Shaine Olmstead (Chowan) - One first-place finish and one second-place finish in two races.
