2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship Preview
HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University laid claim to the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball regular season title on Friday (Feb. 23) night. The Tornado will be the No. 1 seed in next week's Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship, it was determined last night after the conclusion of the season. King finished the year 14-4 in Conference Carolinas action.
Lees-McRae College will be the No. 2 seed after finishing with a 13-5 record. Barton College and University of Mount Olive each finished the season with identical 12-6 records. The Bulldogs earned the No. 3 seed through tiebreakers, while the Trojans came away with the No. 4 seed.
Hitting the road for the quarterfinals will be No. 5 seed Limestone College (8-10), No. 6 seed North Greenville University (7-11), No. 7 seed Erskine College (6-12) and No. 8 seed Belmont Abbey College (5-13).
The 2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship quarterfinals will be held on the campus of the higher seed on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The semifinals and final will be played on the campus of the highest seed remaining after the quarterfinals on Mar. 3 and 4, respectively. The winner of the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship.
