Chowan's Kaliakperov Named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Chowan University's Adi Kaliakperov was named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 19-25, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Shymkent, Kazakhstan, Kaliakperov picked up four wins last week to lead the Hawks to a pair of non-conference wins. Against Averett, he would notch an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles to go with a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set win at No. 2 singles. The week would conclude with a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles (8-3) and No. 2 singles (7-6 (6-0), 6-2) over West Virginia Wesleyan.

Averett University:
No. 2 Singles - 6-2, 6-2
No. 1 Doubles - 8-0

West Virginia Wesleyan College:
No. 2 Singles - 7-6 (6-0), 6-2
No. 1 Doubles - 8-3
