Belmont Abbey's Luca Named Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College attack Rebecca Luca has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 12-18, the Conference announced today. This marks Belmont Abbey's second POTW honor of the year.
A senior from Massapequa, N.Y., Luca tallied 17 points on 14 goals and three assists to lead the Crusaders to a 2-0 record last week. In a narrow 14-13 defeat of Wingate, she would net eight goals with one ground ball, one draw control and one caused turnover. Luca would close out her week with a nine-point game in a 19-4 drumming of Chowan, scoring six times and dishing three helpers in the contest.
Luca currently has 49 points on 33 goals and 16 assists on the season. Her point total ranks first in Conference Carolinas, while her goal and assist totals both rank third in the league.
