No. 3 Seed Barton Wins 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship

WILSON, N.C. – No. 3 seed Barton College captured the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship on Friday (Mar. 2) night after defeating No. 4 seed King University by a score of 83-68.

The win notched Bulldogs' coach Wendee Saintsing her 500th career win. Barton earns the Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship with the victory. The Bulldogs will find out their 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship seeding on Sunday (Mar. 4) night on the NCAA Selection Show.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
