Barton and Limestone Earn Bids to 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College and Limestone College each heard its name called Sunday (Mar. 4) night and earned bids to the 2018 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the NCAA announced tonight.
The Saints (23-5) received the No. 5 seed in the Southeast Region as an at-large team and will play No. 4 seed Lander University in the first round.
The Bulldogs earned the No. 6 seed as an automatic qualifier after winning the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship on Friday (Mar. 2) night. Barton (23-8) will face No. 3 seed University of North Georgia in the first round.
The Southeast regional will be played Mar. 9, 10 and 12 on the campus of Carson-Newman University.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
