Mount Olive and Belmont Abbey to Battle in Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship Match
MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The championship match of the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship is set after a thrilling day of semifinal action at the University of Mount Olive on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Top-seeded Mount Olive (13-0-3) remained undefeated on the season with a 1-0 overtime win over Limestone (10-9-0) to advance to the championship match. Jaelyn Brown netted the game-winning goal in the 96th minute off an assist from Sara Berglund.
Second-seeded Belmont Abbey (12-4-3) scored two second half goals to best Barton (12-6-1) and advance to the championship match. Down 1-0, Allyson Elliott scored the equalizer before Morgan Patton scored the game-winning goal with just over 20 minutes to play in the game. Morgan Farrar assisted on both goals.
