Quin Byrd of Limestone Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Quin Byrd of Limestone has been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The league office made the official announcement on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019.
A sophomore guard from Fountain Inn, S.C., Byrd scored a career-best 27 in regionally-ranked Limestone's impressive 82-69 non-conference win over Lander on Nov. 23.
Byrd picked up 19 of her 27 points in the second half en route to the 13-point victory. She knocked down back-to-back three-pointers in the third quarter that were part of a 14-2 run that helped propel the Saints to a 14-2 run in the quarter that proved decisive in the game that earned Limestone its first home win over Lander in 33 years.
Byrd shot 10-of-15 (66.7 percent) from the field in the game, which included going 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. She also had five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
