Erin Zappia of Salem Chosen Conference Carolinas Women’s Swimmer of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Erin Zappia of Salem was selected as the Conference Carolinas Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
The conference office made the official announcement on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019.
A freshman from Brisbane, Australia, Zappia helped Salem set a new school record in the 200-yard medley relay at the 2019 ECAC Winter Championships. Zappia was the third leg in a posted time of 1:55.37, which was a full two seconds better than the previous school record.
In addition, Zappia finished third out of 10 non-Division I swimmers and 25th out of 92 swimmers overall in the 50-yard butterfly at the event.

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its early initial inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
