Sara Berglund Named to United Soccer Coaches All-America Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team continued to add more accolades to the season as Mount Olive received their second NCAA All-American in program history.

Sara Berglund was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-American Third-Team and was the only Conference Carolinas representative on the All-America teams. The All-American is the first honor for Berglund in her career.

Berglund was the Conference Carolinas Tournament Most Valuable Player after scoring the game-winning goal against Belmont Abbey to send the Trojans to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history.

The junior was a first-team all-region section for the United Soccer Coaches and a second-team selection for the Division II Conference Commissioners Association. She was also a first-team all-conference selection. The junior in her first season with Mount Olive led the team in assists with 12 and the conference (10) en route to scoring six times as well. Berglund is also fourth in DII in assists per game. She was also named to the NCCSIA All-State First-Team.
