United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams Feature 17 from Conference Carolinas

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A total of 17 from Conference Carolinas were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams.

The teams were unveiled on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019. To see the full men's all-region teams, please visit HERE. You can see the full women's all-region teams HERE.  

In men's soccer, Belmont Abbey's Ben Knust was named to the first team as the goalkeeper just like he was on the all-league team, while two-time reigning Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year Toby Sims of Chowan was chosen to the first team as a defender. 

First team Conference Carolinas defender Sebastian Marx of Limestone was tabbed as a second team choice as was Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year Harrison Ardron of Chowan. All-Conference Carolinas first team selection Ruben Mancio of Barton was also tabbed to the second team. 

Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year Kevin Daly of Belmont Abbey was named to the third team where he was joined by Conference Carolinas first team selection Trevin Myers of Chowan. 

In women's soccer, Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year Shaunalee Govia of Mount Olive was picked to the first team along with teammate Sara Berglund, who was also an All-Conference Carolinas first team choice. 

The second team featured Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Freshman of the Year Goose Andrews of Belmont Abbey along with teammate Morgan Patton, who was a first team All-Conference Carolinas selection. A second team All-Conference Carolinas selection, Mount Olive's Jaelyn Brown was also named second team all-region.

A first team All-Conference Carolinas pick, Belmont Abbey's Kathryn Laughlin was a third team all-region selection. Mount Olive goalkeeper Taylor Lewis was also a third team selection. Lewis was a second team All-Conference Carolinas selection. 

A first team selection in Conference Carolinas, North Greenville's Abby Robinson was named third team all-region. First team All-Conference Carolinas selection Emma Hickson of Limestone was also named third team all-region. Carolina Lucci of Chowan was also named third team all-region. She was a first team All-Conference Carolinas selection.

The teams are selected through voting by member coaches in those respective divisions. Student-athletes earning first team all-region honors are now eligible to earn All-America status. 

The All-America Teams for NCAA Division II will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
