North Greenville's Shore and Wilder Named Conference Carolinas Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.North Greenville University's duo Madisun Shore and Shekinah Wilder have been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held March 19-25, the Conference announced today.

Shore, a freshman standout for the Crusaders, made school history this weekend at the CIU Invitational. Shore set a new school record in the 800 meters with an impressive time of 2:25.85 and was fast enough to earn her second place in the event at the meet. 

North Greenville's senior, Shekinah Wilder, dominated the jumps at the CIU Invitational. Wilder took home two first-place finishes and two school records in the women's triple jump and long jump. In the triple jump, Wilder won the meet with an impressive leap of 12.02 meters (39' 5.25") and also secured a win in the long jump with a mark of 5.52 meters (18' 1.5"). With both of these outstanding performances, Wilder sits atop the conference charts in the events.

 

Also nominated for Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week:
Zawadi Brown (Limestone) - 11.78 in 100m, 1st place; 24.43 in 200m, 1st

Also nominated for Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week:
Kelsie Smith (Southern Wesleyan) - 47.45 in hammer throw, 12th; 36.23m in discus, 19th
