Erskine's Schlagenhauf Named Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Erskine College midfield Katie Schlagenhauf has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 25 - Mar. 3, the Conference announced today.

Schlagenhauf, a junior from Clarence Center, N.Y., paced Erskine to a 1-1 record last week after posting posted 11 points on eight goals and three assists with 11 draw controls, seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls on the week.

In a 19-18 loss to Newberry, Schlagenhauf posted five goals and an assist for six points with six ground balls, six caused turnovers and five draw controls. In a 17-6 win over Chowan, Schlagenhauf tallied five points on three goals and two helpers with six draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.

Schlagenhauf currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in ground balls (29), while ranking third in caused turnovers (16). She also ranks fourth in points (25), goals (21) and draw controls (26), while sitting ninth in assists (4).

 

Also nominated for Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week:
Rachel Kellogg (North Greenville) - Posted eight points on eight goals with nine draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnovers in two games.
Jackie Kaderabek (Mount Olive) - Posted eight points on four goals and four assists with four caused turnovers and two ground balls in two games.
Angelina Scarpa (Barton) - Posted eight points on four goals and four assists in one game.
Britannie Ouimet (Limestone) - Posted five points on five goals with two draw controls and one caused turnovers in one game.
Kaeleigh McDaniel (Southern Wesleyan) - Posted 26 saves in two games.
