Barton's Copio Named Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College midfield Jake Copio has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played from Mar. 25-31, the Conference announced today.

Copio, a sophomore from Smyrna, Del., led Barton to a pair of wins over Wilmington (Del.) and Emmanuel last week. Copio put up 13 points on seven assists and six goals with four ground balls last week.

In a narrow 13-12 win over Wilmington (Del.), Copio netted two goals and one helper for three points while scooping up three ground balls. Copio closed out the week with 10 points on six assists and four goals with one ground ball in a 19-14 win over Emmanuel.

Copio currently ranks third in Conference Carolinas in assists (21), while ranking fourth in points (51) and sixth in goals (30).

 

Also nominated for Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week:
Larson Sundown (Limestone) - Posted 11 points on four goals and seven assists in two games.
Shamaz Durrant (Emmanuel) - Posted six points on five goals and one assist in two games.
Noah Haas (Belmont Abbey) - Posted five points on five goals in one game.
