Mount Olive Wins Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship; Individual Awards and All-Conference Announced
CENTRAL, S.C. – The 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship was held April 26-27, 2019 on the campus of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C. University of Mount Olive took home the team title after posting a score of 292 points.
North Greenville University's Tevin Richardson earned the Track Athlete of the Year, while Barton College's Micah Clemons earned Field Athlete of the Year. Mount Olive's Jay Hall took home Freshman of the Year. Matt van Lierop of Mount Olive garnered Coach of the Year after leading the Trojans to the Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
New to the Conference Carolinas postseason award offering is the Elite 23 Award. The Elite 23 Award is modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at their respective championship site. The inaugural winner for men's outdoor track & field is Mount Olive's Jonathon Wojcuich.
