Defending Champion Emmanuel Voted Favorite in Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Defending champion Emmanuel has been chosen as the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball preseason favorite.
Emmanuel collected nine first-place votes and a point total of 119 to top the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll. The Lions were the South Division regular season champions last year as well.
Defending North Division regular season champion and 2018 Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship finalist Belmont Abbey was tabbed second in the 2019 preseason poll. The Crusaders received three first-place votes and a total of 111 points in the preseason tally.
Semifinalists at last year’s conference championship, Barton and King are in the top four in the preseason poll. Barton is third with a point total of 97, while King is fourth with a point total of 87.
North Greenville (83) was picked fifth in the preseason poll followed by Limestone (78) in sixth and Southern Wesleyan (53) in seventh. Lee’s McRae (49) is eighth, Erskine (42) is ninth and Mount Olive (30) is 10th. Chowan (22) and Converse (21) close out the voting in the preseason poll.
Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball has also moved to a East-West alignment for the upcoming 2019 campaign.
