Maria Kuhlman of Belmont Abbey Selected Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Maria Kuhlman of Belmont Abbey has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The conference office made the official announcement on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.
A junior forward from Ponte Vedra, Fla., Kulhman closed out a historic week for herself averaging 25 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. She shot a blistering 70.8 percent (17-of-24) from the field on the week. Kulhman knocked down a 12 of her 18 three-point attempts (66.7 percent) in two Belmont Abbey conference road wins.
Currently ranked third in the region, Belmont Abbey behind Kuhlman opened last week with a 69-57 league road win at Mount Olive. Kuhlman finished the victory with 19 points. She followed that up by posting 31 points and seven rebounds in a 79-60 road win at Erskine. Kuhlman surpassed 1,000 points in her career in the conference win at Erskine.
