Jacob Gonzalez and Eian Hines of Mount Olive Earn Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Jacob Gonzalez and Eian Hines of Mount Olive garnered Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field weekly honors for Jan. 21, 2020.
Gonzalez was named the Track Athlete of the Week, while Hines was tabbed as the Field Athlete of the Week.
Gonzalez captured the top spot in the mile at the JDL January College Kickoff with a time of 4:27.75. The time is the best in Conference Carolinas so far in the indoor season.
Hines was just .01 away from an NCAA provisional at the JDL January College Kickoff in the long jump at 7.12 meters. The long jump is the tops in Conference Carolinas so far in the indoor season. He also had a triple jump of 14.37 meters at the event, which is good for second in the current Conference Carolinas standings in the category and also in the Mount Olive record books.
