Madi Matthews of King Selected Conference Carolinas Women’s Swimmer of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Madi Matthews of King has been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
The league office made the official announcement on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020. Matthews has now won the weekly award twice in the 2019-20 season. She also won the award on Oct. 30, 2019.
A freshman from Franklin, Pa., Matthews put together a tremendous individual performance in a home meet against the University of the Cumberlands. She claimed first place in both the 50-yard freestyle (25.63) and the 100-yard freestyle (55.29).
Matthews was also part of a winning 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:44.06).

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its early initial inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
