Joao Santos of Emmanuel Named Conference Carolinas Men’s Swimmer of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Joao Santos of Emmanuel has been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Swimmer of the Week.
The league office made the official announcement on Jan. 29, 2020. Santos has now won the award twice in the 2019-20 season. He also claimed the weekly honor on Dec. 11, 2019.
The junior from Maringa, Parana, Brazil captured five first-place finishes in the double dual Emmanuel Invite against South Georgia State and Brenau.
Individually, Santos took top honors in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.11) and the 100 breaststroke (57.84). He was also part of three different relay-winning teams (400 medley relay, 400 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay).

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its early initial inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
