Nation’s Leading Scorer Tabbed Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jordan Floyd of King has been tabbed as the Conference Carolinas Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Floyd continued his tremendous senior campaign over the holiday break by averaging 34.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game over a four-game stretch. He averaged 37.3 points per game in three conference games.
The senior guard from Stone Mountain, Ga. was particularly lethal last week, averaging 39.5 points per game in two league wins over Southern Wesleyan and Mount Olive. He shot 63.5 percent (33-of-52) from the field in the two wins.
In King’s 76-74 conference win over Mount Olive on Saturday, Jan. 4, Floyd finished with a school-record 43 points. The 43 points broke a school record that had stood for 50-plus years. He also set the school record for made field goals in the game with 18.
Floyd presently leads all of NCAA Division II with 29.4 points per game.
