Wendy Traynor of King Chosen as Conference Carolinas Nomination for Dr. Dave Pariser Faculty Mentor Award
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has selected Wendy Traynor of King University as its nomination for the Dr. Dave Pariser Faculty Mentor Award.
The award, named after a Bellarmine physical therapy professor who died in 2013, recognizes faculty members at Division II institutions for their dedication to supporting and mentoring student-athletes, as well as their commitment to Division II student-athletes’ lifelong learning, competition and well-being.
The NCAA Division II SAAC will announce the national winner of the Dr. Dave Pariser Faculty Mentor Award at the NCAA Convention in January of 2021.
A Professor of Mathematics, Traynor is an avid follower and supporter of King athletics. She considers King students and student-athletes as part of her family (
Example on Instagram).
Traynor is the faculty advisor for Women in STEM (open to men and women who are interested in math and science related fields), the King baseball team and the women’s volleyball team. She truly exemplifies the values of NCAA Division II in that she always goes above and beyond for her students. She attends as many games as she can and frequently travels to away games. Traynor is a big believer in teaching time management and she preaches the importance of mental health to all of her students.
Traynor’s overall goal is to make sure that all of the students she has the ability to work with leave King prepared for what comes next after graduation.
