Belmont Abbey Selected Favorite in 2020-21 Men’s Golf Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Belmont Abbey has been selected as the favorite in the 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Preseason Poll.
The conference office officially unveiled the preseason poll on Dec. 10, 2020. The preseason poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Belmont Abbey in the spring of 2021, according to Conference Carolinas records, will be looking for its fourth conference title overall and its first since taking the stroke play title in 2013. Belmont Abbey received five first-place votes and a total of 54 points to secure the top spot in the 2020-21 preseason tally.
North Greenville received two first-place votes and was second in the preseason poll with a total of 49 points. Barton received a first-place vote and a total of 47 points to sit third in the preseason poll. Barton was followed in the preseason poll by Mount Olive (45), Erskine (42), King (35), Southern Wesleyan (25), Emmanuel (16) and Chowan (11). Southern Wesleyan received the final first-place vote.
The 2021 Conference Carolinas Men’s Golf Championship is scheduled for Sunday, April 18-Tuesday, April 20 at the Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
