Mount Olive Named Favorite in 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mount Olive has been selected as the favorite in the 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Preseason Poll.
The conference office officially unveiled the preseason poll on Dec. 11, 2020. The preseason poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Mount Olive is looking for its first regular-season title since 2013 and its fourth overall in the spring of 2021. The Trojans received six first-place votes and a total of 47 points to secure the top spot in the preseason poll.
Barton and King have shared the regular-season title for the last three completed seasons (2017, 2018 and 2019). Barton received the other two first-place votes and a total of 43 points to claim the second spot in the preseason tally. King was third with a total of 37 points.
Belmont Abbey (31) was fourth in the poll followed by North Greenville (27), Lees-McRae (16), Erskine (14) and Emmanuel (9).
The 2021 Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Championship will get underway with first round play at higher seeds on Thursday, April 8. The quarterfinal round will then be played at higher seeds on Tuesday, April 13.
The 2021 Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Championships semifinals and finals will be contested on Saturday, April 17 (semifinals) and Sunday, April 18 (finals) in Bristol, Tennessee on the campus of King University.
