Belmont Abbey Named as Favorite in 2021 Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Belmont Abbey has been selected as the favorite in the 2021 Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
 
The conference office officially unveiled the preseason poll on Dec. 15, 2020. The preseason poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches.
 
Belmont Abbey picked up six first-place votes and a total of 78 points to secure the top spot in the preseason tally ahead of Mount Olive (72). The Trojans received the other four first-place votes. North Greenville (67) was third, while Barton (56) was fourth in the poll.
 
Lees-McRae (40) and Southern Wesleyan (40) tied for fifth and they were followed in the preseason poll by Erskine (33), Chowan (26), Converse (22) and Emmanuel (16).
 
The 2021 Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Championships get underway with first round play at higher seeds on Monday, April 19. The quarterfinals will be held at higher seeds one day later on Tuesday, April 20.
 
The 2021 Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Championship semifinals (Friday, April 23) and final (Sunday, April 25) will be held in Tigerville, South Carolina on the campus of North Greenville University.
