Mount Olive Selected Favorite in Women’s Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mount Olive has been tabbed as the favorite in the 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll.
The conference office officially unveiled the preseason poll on Dec. 2, 2020. The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches.
Mount Olive has captured every Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track & Field title since 2014. Mount Olive was able to secure its seventh consecutive team title at the 2020 Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship.
In the 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, Mount Olive received a total of 95 points to hold off second place Southern Wesleyan (88) for the top spot. Mount Olive received six first-place votes and Southern Wesleyan claimed two first-place votes. North Greenville was picked third in the preseason tally with a total of 74 points.
Newcomer UNC Pembroke collected the other three first-place votes. Last year's Mountain East Conference champions in women's indoor track & field, UNC Pembroke is fourth overall in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll with a total of 74 points.
Converse (67) was fifth in the preseason poll followed by Erskine (56), Lees-McRae (44), Emmanuel (38), Barton (31), King (19) and Belmont Abbey (17).
