Conference Carolinas

 

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Delanie Laudenbacher of Southern Wesleyan and Alyssa Pickle of Mount Olive have garnered the weekly honors for Conference Carolinas softball. 

 

Laudenbacher collected Pitcher of the Week accolades, while Pickle was tabbed as the Player of the Week. The conference office released the weekly honors on Tuesday, Feb. 11. 

 

Laudenbacher was phenomenal in the circle in a 2-0 eight-inning win over Point. The junior pitcher from Due West, S.C. allowed just one hit and struck out 13 in the Southern Wesleyan win on Feb. 7. 

 

A senior from Robbins, N.C., Pickle hit .545 (6-for-11) in an undefeated week for the Trojans. Pickle also had eight RBIs to go along with three runs scored. She hit three home runs on the week, including a game-winning three-run home run in a victory over Winston-Salem State. She also had a double on the week.

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its early initial inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Conference Carolinas member institutions are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Limestone, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.
