Seth Chestnut of North Greenville and Joe Mason of Mount Olive Earn Baseball Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Seth Chestnut of North Greenville and Joe Mason of Mount Olive earned the Conference Carolinas baseball weekly honors.
Chestnut was named the Pitcher of the Week, while Mason was tabbed the Player of the Week. The conference office unveiled the weekly honors on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
A junior right-handed pitcher from Neeses, S.C., Chestnut pitched a strong six innings in North Greenville's 2-0 win over No. 17 Bellarmine on Feb. 9. He gave up just two hits and struck out four in his six innings on the hill.
A senior outfielder from Morehead City, N.C., Mason had 11 RBIs for Mount Olive in an impressive undefeated week for the Trojans. Overall, Mason was 6-of-16 (.375) at the dish with six runs scored to go along with the 11 RBIs. Mason had four extra-base hits on the week on three home runs and one double.
