Three From Conference Carolinas Earn CoSIDA Basketball Academic All-District Honors
 
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Three Conference Carolinas basketball student-athletes were chosen to the 2019-20 Academic All-District® Basketball Teams. 
 
Allie Downing and Maria Kuhlman of the nationally-ranked Belmont Abbey women's basketball team were chosen to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball District 3 Team, while James Brown of the nationally-ranked King men's basketball team was tabbed to the Division II Men's Basketball District 3 Team. 
 
A junior forward from New Madison, Ohio, Downing boasts a 3.98 grade-point average. She is averaging 14.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. A junior forward from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Kuhlman owns a 3.99 grade-point average. She is averaging 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. 
 
A senior guard from Lansing, Mich., Brown owns a 3.70 grade-point average. He is averaging 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. 
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced between March 9-12.
