AnnaKate Gilchrist of Barton and Brooklyn Stone of North Greenville Pick Up Weekly Softball Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. – AnnaKate Gilchrist of Barton and Brooklyn Stone of North Greenville have claimed the Conference Carolinas weekly awards for softball.

Gilchrist was tabbed as the Pitcher of the Week, while Stone garnered Player of the Week accolades. The conference office made the official announcement on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020.

A freshman right-handed pitcher from Clayton, N.C., Gilchrist opened her career by throwing a two-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over St. Andrews. She struck out seven in her complete game performance.

A junior third baseman from Moncks Corner, S.C., Stone hit .714 (5-of-7) in a season-opening split with Anderson. She had three RBIs and scored one run. Stone owned a slugging percentage of .857 and an on-base percentage of .714. She had one double.
