Leading the Way: Angelos Mandilaris of Barton Earns AVCA Division I-II Men's Volleyball All-America Honors
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Angelos Mandilaris of Barton was named an NVA/AVCA Division I-II Men's Volleyball All-America selection.
Mandilaris was chosen as a 2020 second team NVA/AVCA Division I-II Men's Volleyball All-American.
With the prestigious honor, Mandilaris becomes the first from Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball to officially be placed on the first or second team. Mandilaris was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-America choice after the 2019 season.
A senior right side from Chalkida, Greece, Mandilaris ended his prolific career having won Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year three times. Mandilaris was third in the nation this past season with a 4.43 kills per game average. He was also in the country’s top 15 with a career-best .412 attack percentage. The opposite had double-digit kills in all but two matches, including a match-high 25 kills in an upset sweep against Loyola.
