Angelos Mandilaris of Barton and Francisco Salinger Cenzual of Limestone Chosen Academic All-Americans

AUSTIN, Texas - Angelos Mandilaris of Barton and Francisco Salinger Cenzual of Limestone have been selected to the 2020 Academic All-America® Division II Men’s At-Large Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

Mandilaris was a first team selection, while Salinger Cenzual earned third team honors. 

Mandilaris was also chosen as a 2020 second team NVA/AVCA Division I-II Men's Volleyball All-American. With the prestigious honor, Mandilaris became the first from Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball to officially be placed on the first or second team. Mandilaris was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-America choice after the 2019 season. Mandilaris ended his prolific career having won Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year three times. In the classroom, Mandilaris graduated this past spring with a 3.82 grade-point average as a Mathematics major.

The Chalkida, Greece native ranked third in the country in kills per game this year (4.43) and his .412 hitting percentage ranked in the top 15 nationally. Mandilaris finished with a team-high 217 kills and left Barton as the program's all-time leader in kills with 1,360. 

A rising senior in terms of athletic eligibility, Salinger Cenzual posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while earning his undergraduate degree in Business Management and Sport Management this spring. The Cipolletti, Argentina native has already started work in Limestone’s Master of Business Administration program. 

The 2018 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, Salinger Cenzual led Limestone with 170 kills, 20 service aces and 4.27 points per set in the shortened 2020 season.

The Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.
