GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) believes that they are stronger together and it showed in the annual meeting for the conference’s representatives on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

The 2020 Conference Carolinas SAAC Meeting sponsored by Cambria Hotel Greenville was much different from in the past though because it was held virtually on Zoom.

Despite the annual meeting having to be held virtually, Conference Carolinas Assistant Commissioner Jill Weston was impressed with the engagement of the SAAC representatives in the video meeting.

“This is a really special group,” Weston, who works with the SAAC representatives throughout the year, said. “The NCAA Division II SAAC is utilizing the message of supporting the total package student-athlete this year and that is exactly the types of student-athletes that we have in Conference Carolinas. All of our student-athletes involved in our annual meeting worked together extremely well and had tremendous ideas. We look forward to implementing their ideas over the course of the 2020-21 academic year.”

Conference Carolinas Commissioner Chris Colvin opened the meeting by relaying how important SAAC is to everything that is done in the conference (pictured below that shows just a small sampling of the Conference Carolinas SAAC Leaders on the call).

“This is an interesting time for our student-athletes,” Colvin said. “Our student-athletes are dealing with issues that last year at this same time we never would have thought would have been possible. I commend our SAAC representatives and all of our student-athletes for working together to make all of our campuses better.”
