GREENVILLE, S.C. – KJ Jones II of Emmanuel and MJ Foust of King have collected the Conference Carolinas men’s basketball weekly awards.
 
Jones was named the Player of the Week, while Foust picked up the Defensive Player of the Week plaudits.
 
A sophomore guard from Atlanta, Jones averaged 20 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal per game in Emmanuel’s conference two-game split with Belmont Abbey. Jones was lethal at the charity stripe on the week, finishing 17-of-18 (94 percent) in the two games. He shot 41 percent (9-of-22) from the field overall on the week. Jones on the year is averaging a Conference Carolinas-best 21.6 points per game.
 
Foust was strong for the Tornado defensively last week with six steals and two blocks on the week. The junior from Little Rock, Arkansas also averaged 18 points and 8.33 rebounds per game. In King’s game with Southern Wesleyan on Jan. 22, Foust had 31 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two assists. He had a double-double with 11 rebounds and 10 points to go along with two blocks and two steals in King’s 74-72 win over Mount Olive on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
